Now, wandering around the halls, talking to folk, one gets the sense that there are quite a few conferences taking place here.
First up, you can sense the enthusiasm and excitement coming from science and the scientists.
New formulations, new medications, new therapeutic and prevention approaches that are really generating much enthusiasm.
On the other hand, you see countries that were beneficiaries of the U.S. investment arm called PEPFAR, who have had their funding slashed.
And then you also had... activists from Africa and other regions of the world saying, well, hang on, hang on, we're not sure that we necessarily want to have PEPFAR back, and for us to be so reliant on the whims of one donor that could change dramatically, as happened last year.
Now, is that something they know that the rest of us don't? Or do we know something that they don't know? I tend towards the former.
