Hello and welcome to A Problem Squared, the problem solving podcast, which is a lot like a road trip.

Yes, there will be several interesting detours, which means it will take longer than necessary to reach the point we are trying to make, but arguably that's the reason why you've chosen this vehicle in the first place.

I'm Bec Hill, a comedian, writer and presenter who will be driving the show today, despite the fact that I still can't legally drive.

And I am joined by my co-host, Matt Parker, who is a mathematician, YouTuber and, quite frankly, too relaxed passenger, given the circumstances.

Obviously, because you don't drive, I have no actual real world experience of what it would be like to be in a car that you're in charge of.

too bad actually i'm pretty careful like okay aside from once i accidentally hit accelerate instead of brake and obviously immediately realized and then broke

that's very funny because i'm pretty good at driving a car apart from occasionally i'm like what you put the window down by accident you turn the stereo up too loud no just occasionally the wrong pedal you know

You do that when you're learning.

You make mistakes when you're learning.

Oh, that's true.

If we didn't, then why would we have to learn? No,

good point.

By now, I'm better.

I don't do that as much now.

Basically, I'm trying to reassure everyone that it's cool if you want to teach me how to drive.
