#310: Day Planning

Well, for me, I feel like different parts of my life get planned kind of differently.

Okay.

So for example, let's talk about how we plan the podcast.

How do we-

Okay

... do that? So every season, so like every three to six months, I don't know, probably three to four months, so I make a schedule that's like we, we record three episodes at a time.

Mm-hmm.

I try to never get too far behind so that if we have sick days or a kid has a sick day or something like that, then we're not making our podcast editor, Jillian, hi Jillian, have to do things like the day before it's due.

Yeah.

'Cause that's obviously very rude.

So try to build in some space like that.

I also check the public school calendar and try to see [laughs] when she's gonna have days off with her kids, 'cause I don't know those.

My kids aren't in school yet.

So I try to look at those, and then I send Elsie a like, "Here's when we're gonna record these days," and then we just kind of block 'em off.

And I have mine literally on this like shared digital calendar with my husband so that he knows.

'Cause to me the podcast is like one thing I try not to move.

So like if one of our kids does get sick, sometimes I'm kinda like, "Hey, I'm doing podcast.

It's been on the calendar.

Can you stay home with the kid?" Or whatever, you know.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, most time we're able to, to make that work.

But so then those are kind of like blocked off on the calendar for a while, and then Elsie does outlines and I do the ads.

So I kind of, for ads, I gather all the stuff, all the talking points.

We mostly get them all once a month, although sometimes they trickle in at different times.

And I make scripts.
