He suffered illness, and he suffered enemies, and even though he's bounced back and shown great resilience and been at the mercy of Hashem, he asks Hashem to continue to shower him with kindness.

And we last left off, "ki mei olam heymah", that they are built into the fabric of creation.

Teshuva was created even before the world, 'cause Hashem knew we were fallible, we could make mistakes, and He built a way back into the very creation.

"Ka'asher yichalnulech", and, uh, do so as, "yichalnu" means we hope, as we hope for You, long for You, as we turn to You.

And here the pasuk seem to describe a certain reciprocal relationship, that we will be worthy, Hashem, of Your love reciprocally or as a mirror for the hope that we put in You.

The Rambam writes in particular, others too, that Hashgaha Pratis, Hashem's divine providence is not equal for everyone.

There's a difference between Hashgaha Klalis, universal providence, and Hashgaha Pratis, the specific one.

Hashem interacts with the world at large, or Am Yisrael at large is different than every individual necessarily having divine intervention, divine interference in our lives.

But the Rambam says even for individuals, it all depends on a person's Emunah and Bitachon in Hashem.

HaKadosh Baruch Hu gets involved in the lives of people who invite Him in, but if you push Him away, you have no interest, you withdraw, and you say, "I don't need You", Hashem says, "Okay, then I'll turn My attention to other places." This is different than certainly what is the predominant Chassidish view and others, that Hashem is involved in every single detail of every single person's life, no matter who they are or where they're holding.

The Rambam says differently, and there are multiple, obviously legitimate, approaches, the elu v'elu to Emunah and Bitachon.

We are, "Hashem yichasdecha Hashem aleinu", let Your loving kindness be on us, "ka'asher yichalnulech", let it be proportional or reciprocal to the hope that we put in You, to the dependence that we have on You.

Since we're surrendering to You, we hope for You, we long for You, so therefore, uh, reciprocate and show us kindness.
