Moana (2026) 3-D Movie Review

So, um, I actually got to watch this in laser projection RealD 3D, and it's a beautiful presentation.

Um, the very bright tropical environments thrive in 3D.

They look gorgeous, uh, creating some very vibrant images that are very rich and look great from beginning to end.

There's plenty of fun moments where things will pop out of the screen, like spears or oars or flames or splashes of water and other things like that.

Um, there's a lot of little underwater sequences that give you a nice little, you know, gorgeous looking, uh, screensaver kinda thing with, uh, you know, as you're looking into it, like a little aquarium kinda thing.

The environments really help out.

Uh, you really feel like you're in the jungle.

There's like the foliage and the trees and, and stuff all around you.

Ironically, the biggest disappointment is with the amount of depth I had.

Um, I was expecting that whenever you see the vast ocean, that you would see vast depth in 3D aspect, and the movie could have had that, but it didn't.

And that was like, huh, I would have expected more from that.

And there's a lot of little, a lot of darkly lit scenes, and the scenes are, you know, the, they, the 3D is fine, as good as it probably could be in those scenes, but you know, dark and 3D are not great together.

So it works though.

So overall though, hey, it's pretty solid.

Um, really enjoyable.

Um, so yeah.

Um, my favorite scene in 3D was the You're Welcome song.

That was really great layering, and I just kinda wish the characters themselves had more dimension, but I'll get to that eventually.

Um, overall, 3D is pretty great.

Um, 8 out of 10 for the 3D aspect.
