Zvi Eckstein

Exactly.

We have demographic economic history from researchers Maristella Botticini and Zvi Eckstein.

Right, their work is fascinating.

It really is.

Right.

To understand the mechanics of this loop, Horn's thesis requires us to look at the underlying socioeconomic realities of Jewish life.

And to do that, we are bringing in the incredible paradigm-shifting economic research of Maristella Botticini and Ziv Eckstein from their book, The Chosen Few.

Now, I have to say, reading Botticini and Eckstein blew my mind because if you were to ask me, or frankly if you ask the average historian or take any standard high school history class why Jews historically ended up concentrated in urban professions like finance, banking, medicine, and trade, the answer is always exactly the same.
