Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District

This year has been still undefeated but a very different looking schedule for Pine Island.

They've got a 13-6 win over Red Wing, just 20 to 10 over Zumbrota-Mazeppa, 21-14 over Winona Cotter, only 33-12, I say only but, like, relative to last year it's only, 33-12 over La Crescent.

Is it a 50/50 on if they win the section, or do they still...

Would you still give 'em closer to 60 or something?

You get a rematch against La Crescent.

You're on the road in La Crescent, which is probably not a fun drive, but, like, there's a path where if PEM takes this B positive second half into week eight and into the opening round matchup, it could be a really strong way to finish the season.

And since they fared much better against Cotter than they did against Pine Island or Zumbrota-Mazeppa, like we're saying, does this give them higher hopes for the final week against Lourdes and potentially your first round matchup?

Sure.

You know, they play on the turf field down there in, uh, W- Winona State.

Last week they g- uh, were beaten by Zumbrota-Mazeppa, but, uh, they'll...

I'm sure they'll be ready to, ready to rock and roll tonight.

Yeah, they would be number three out of the big three in section one AAA.

Absolutely.

Well, who did Zumbrota-Mazeppa play? Cotter?

It was a-

That was a one touchdown game-

We've got Goodhue, Red Wing, Lake City, Plainview, El Chamal.

[smacks lips] I would not be surprised if, like, there's gonna be a lot of Zumbrota-Mazeppa talk mixed in, or some Cotter, Wabasha Kellogg, Cannon Fall, some of these other schools that are not super far away.

But we'll, we will not be dissecting Thief River Falls football unless...

Did you have them on your list for this week?

I'm going with my S, but if I had to give a letter grade, I would say I'm in the C range with you as well.

I'd go with probably a straight C.

Lake City zero at Zumbrota-Mazeppa 46.

This is probably gonna be crazy for me to say, but, like, I'm actually thinking it s- I might give, like, Lake City a B- here, because they were, they were up...
