Zora Arkus-Duntov

It's kind of a famous car.

It's also, probably the coolest thing is, under the hood is signed by Zora Arkus-Duntov.

Oh, wow.

Another time, I arrived at the studio parking out on the back street behind our main building that we worked out of, and as I walked up, I noticed sitting in the back door was a custom Corvette, the likes of which I'd never seen before.

After giving it a good once-over, I went inside to find Jim in his office talking with a small elderly man who he introduced to me as Zora Duntov.

I had no idea who that was at the time.

But Jim proceeded to tell me that he was the man who had initially worked on the design of the Corvette for General Motors and they had given him the nickname Father of the Corvette.

Although that title truly belongs to Harley Earl and that the car out back was a 1980 Duntov Turbo Special Edition.

One of only 501 that Jim made.

We went outside, Mr. Duntov proudly showed us the vehicle, and I saw that it had a small bronze plate inside the driver's door attached to the bottom kick plate that read, 1980 Duntov Turbo Corvette, awarded to Mr. Zora Duntov by the GM Corporation.

Vehicle number 000.

Right.

Um, and then our friend, uh, Zora Arkus-Duntov, made the Duntov heads, uh, uh, sorry, the Arden heads-

Mm-hmm

... for the flathead, which are overhead valve heads for a flathead.
