Because the first recordings of high life music were done by Zonophone.

The Zonophone label, old Zonophone label, which was part of RCA Victor.

They started recording tracks in 1926.

Now, the most popular one they recorded was in 1928, the first popular high life recording, which was one of the tracks I shared.

Well, that didn't go over too well with Seaman.

And he was working with some other people and eventually developed the Universal Talking Machine Company, which today would produce what we call the Zonophone record.

And Zonophone, of course, eventually replaces the Berliner Gramophone through a little skullduggery.

And also because of Columbia wanting to get rid of Berliner because they were terrified of Berliner.

Right.

And they kind of actually, if I recall correctly, I think for a short while, a very short while, the Columbia Phonograph Company was marketing the Zono phone record for a short while.

That was until they decided to finally get into the business, which is another story in itself.
