But since they've sold off so much of their, I'm just going to call it their good stuff, right? I mean, it was really good IPs that they gave away.
Stephen BuonocoreHOST
22:36
All of Zombicide went over to Asmodee.
Stephen BuonocoreHOST
22:39
So many other things went to Asmodee.
Stephen BuonocoreHOST
22:41
Other companies bought pieces of their IPs.
Paula DemingPANELIST

Lots of game with this name.
Mike MurphyHOST
25:03
Zombicide.
Mike MurphyHOST
25:04
It's Zombicide.
Mike MurphyHOST
25:05
It's Zombicide.
Mike MurphyHOST
25:06
Well done.
Mike MurphyHOST
25:07
I think we were quite generous with you all there, but you did get there.
WillHOST
45:42
Yeah.
WillHOST
45:42
And I think that what you're saying there is really interesting, right? Because, uh, dungeon crawlers have a long history in board games, and I can credit a specific type of dungeon crawler, uh, not the Carl version, but, uh, the game Zombicide, s- specifically Black Plague, was very formative in my modern love of board games, right? Like, I grew up playing, like, Life and Monopoly and, and all these different games, all the normal quote, unquote, "games" when I was a kid with, uh, my mom.
WillHOST
46:18
And as I got into the hobby board game space, um, about 10 years ago, I found Zombicide, and that game really appealed to me because of the way you're capturing a bit of that RPG element, right? You're taking a character, you're leveling it up, you're fighting these hordes of zombies.
WillHOST
46:38
They have specific ways they interact and do things, all that stuff, and I love that game to this day.
WillHOST
46:43
Like, it's, it's not as, as big on my list as it used to be, but I still own a massive amount of that game.
WillHOST
46:52
If anyone's like, "Hey, I've never really played hobby games before.
WillHOST
46:55
I, I kinda like these kind of things," well then boom, I'm like, "Cool.
WillHOST
46:58
We're busting out Zombicide, and you're gonna love it." And I have yet to have someone that I've played Zombicide with that was like, "No, this game sucks." So it's-
Brad JohnsonGUEST
42:01
Um, Andy was talking about his miniatures getting painted.
Brad JohnsonGUEST
42:04
After years of enjoying the Zombicide line of games, I've had Green Horde for, for a number of years.
Brad JohnsonGUEST
42:11
I finally got the opportunity to play it a couple weeks ago.
Nathan HowardHOST
42:15
No way.
Brad JohnsonGUEST
44:33
That was, that was the thing that blew me away, is how well we kept everybody leveling at a more or less the same rate.
Brad JohnsonGUEST
44:40
We had a couple people out ahead of the rest, but nobody was crazy far behind.
Brad JohnsonGUEST
44:44
And then one of the biggest challenges in Zombicide is not having one person just farming all the XP, 'cause that seems to happen so many times, and it, and it just unbalances the game.
Douglas StewartHOST
44:55
Yep.
Dave KallmelHOST
12:38
Yeah.
Dave KallmelHOST
12:38
To me, it feels like MCP and Zombicide had a baby.
Steven HiggsHOST
12:43
Yeah, I can see that.
Dave KallmelHOST
12:47
And I love Zombicide.
Dave KallmelHOST
12:49
I'm signed up on GameFound for the little Kickstarter thing.
Dave KallmelHOST
12:54
It's not Kickstarter, it's on GameFound.
Philip MillmanHOST
1:12
Well, first of all, I don't think we got it wrong.
Philip MillmanHOST
1:14
I mean, we have Lake of America, don't we? But no, we call it tabletop wargaming because when you talk about tabletop miniature gaming, it could be anything from Zombicide to Warhammer 40K to HeroClick, anything with kind of dudes on the map.
Philip MillmanHOST
1:32
But with wargaming, which actually is one of the oldest forms of tabletop games, When I was a young man, there was something called Chainmail, which was the original Dungeons & Dragons, which was very much a tabletop war game.

Once the model is assembled, you can start playing and enjoying yourself straight away.
VicHOST
24:23
can we use the term for quote no knickers or will that be put out at the podcast we'll ask our moral advisor um i found the same thing and like there are even outside of um that kind of mini board game, they sell it with the models and they get the shock and awe with that.
VicHOST
24:44
I mean, if you look at games like Zombicide, they overproduce a lot of the games and you're talking about hundreds of minis.
VicHOST
24:52
And if you do get to paint them all, fantastic for a player to use.
Antoine MorgenthalerGUEST
4:28

Ramon MercadoHOST

He saw it there and he brought the campaign because he had Washington, D.C. on it.
TroyHOST

AndrewGUEST

AndrewGUEST
10:23
Aren't you backing some sort of all-in on Zombicide or something? Not all-in.
Stephen BuonocoreHOST
53:03
He says that Gloomhaven is definitely better on PC, in my humble opinion.
Stephen BuonocoreHOST
53:10
For one that doesn't have a digital version, or one I've never played, that would be Zombicide.
Stephen BuonocoreHOST
53:16
Oh, I think
Corey ThompsonHOST
53:17
Zombicide's a really good board game, the tactility of it.
Stephen BuonocoreHOST
53:21
I agree.
Stephen BuonocoreHOST
53:22
The tactility of it, it's a very simple game, really, when it comes down to it.
JustineHOST
15:16
Oh, yeah.
JustineHOST
15:16
Sorry when you said that because we were talking about Zombicide the other week.
JustineHOST
15:20
We'll have to play Zombicide.
JustineHOST
15:21
We'll have to play Zombicide.
JustineHOST
15:22
In my head then I was thinking, did we play Zombicide? I don't remember playing Zombicide.
JustineHOST
15:28
And I'm picturing like putting the tiles out and everything and getting the characters.
JustineHOST
