Zodak

Cosmic.

And so the new guy was given the name Zodak, most likely inspired by the astronomy term for the group of constellations called the Zodiac.

Which is fitting given that his futuristic-looking helmet and weapon of choice, a laser blaster, the only master to wield one up to that point, led to his official title as a Cosmic Enforcer.

Anyway, despite Taylor's desire to make Zodak one of the good guys, unfortunately all the hero slots were full and so Zodak was filed under Evil Warrior.

Which would most likely explain the choice to build his toy out of reused bad guy parts.

The hairy chest from Beastman, and the finned forearms and three-toed demon feet from Skeletor.

A description that reeked of Mattel trying to catch a little of that Boba Fett magic off the Empire Strikes Back.

So, not quite Skeletor's lackey per se like Beastman or Merman, but more like a gun for hire, which left just a teeny-weeny tiny bit of wiggle room for him to maybe, possibly not want to take out He-Man and friends.

So, yeah, Warlore has a real cool kind of, I don't know, you'll get it when you see it, like a 70s anime kind of vibe or something.

And I always think about Zodak.

Yeah, Zodak in the Masters of the Universe when I think about Warlore.

You didn't know if Zodak was, you know, is he good? Is he bad? Is he so high functioning that we don't matter to him? And Warlork kind of fills that space for the planetoids.

I also love, we got a character named Sluge.

Sluge is our snake eyes, like just all jet black, you know? And he's, yeah, he's tough.

Um, And then season two was about the snake men.

So the snake men were an ancient race of people that ruled over Eternia, but were defeated, uh, by Zodak and the enforcers.

And they were basically banished to this like dimension, uh, where the door or basically the key to opening this dimension is in snake mountain.

And the Snake Mountain was actually their fort, like the King Hisa's fortress back in the day.

And finally, Lou Scheimer himself, the head of filmation, one thing you can say about him is that he loved cartoons and making them, and he was also a voice actor.

So he was the voice of Orko, Crapjaw, Triclops, and Zodak.

Very versatile.

Yep.

She informs them that finding the world where He-Man landed would be virtually impossible.

But fortunately, she knows one being in the universe who observes the whole cosmos and might be able to help.

She summons Zodak, writer of the Cosmic Spaceways.

Zodak appears and challenges.
