Zell am See

It's just like if all these races back-to-back...

Because she did Kalmar, two weeks later Zell am See, two weeks later this one, and then in four weeks time she'll be doing Kona.

So she's racing a lot.

But yeah, she seems to be coming from a very good, yeah, like base fitness or like fitness.

So it's been a good time here.

Like we went a few days out to Zell am See and back, uh, but now we're here until, until the race.

Right.

I mean, and how, how different of an experience is it from maybe you 10 years ago going to a race site where, uh, you're able to balance that like, as you said, a place that's great for, uh, you and your family and getting distraction, um, with real life and what matters to you most by being able to find the cool, cool playgrounds in town?

Yeah, yeah.

It's not very often that I've just traveled myself bas- really.

Like it's, um, they, there was always like a head coach I think coming with us when we were with the Belgian team or when, um, yeah, now like for example in Zell am See it was just my partner, but it was still someone there.

So, um, yeah.

I felt that one.

So I went to Zell am See for the first time last season.

I think I went like end of Jan.

Really lucky again that we got digs for free because they live out there.

And I did like Zell am See, did the Smitten, Sal back in.

And I thought that I enjoyed it.

I thought it was really good out there.

You obviously got strong for the Sweden race, and you're recovering well.

So are you gonna do Zell am See and Worlds, or is it just Worlds next?

Yeah, so I put my name on the start list in Zell am See, and, um, because, you know, you have to sign up ahead, uh, otherwise you don't get the chance to race.

Yeah.

Um, so this was something I, I did, uh, because I just wanted to have all the opportunities.

Mm-hmm.

Um, but as it looks right now I, I want to do it, um, because I feel like...

Uh, first it's a race I know very well, because I've done it several times, and actually I looked it up because '21, um, was the last time that I did it, and there I raced the Ironman European Championships in Finland, and then two weeks after I raced Zell am See.

Yeah, no, I actually, uh, when I was thinking about the podcast, I'd completely forgotten about the racing, so I'm not...

You know, congratulations to those who did well, but I don't know, it's too many talking points for us to focus on other than the fact that you talked about Nice, uh, Kate, and also in Zell am See.

Uh, I do remember Zell am See last year, watching the coverage, Tex.

Uh, it's pretty hilly even in Zell am See, isn't it? Not really technical, but it's lumpy, the Zell am See course.

I remember the, watching the girls race and seeing when Betts Clark was close to the front of that race.

Um, there are a couple of fairly solid climbs.

Next year.
