She received her PhD in biology from Dresden University of Technology, Germany, where she trained with Michael Brand.

Her lab studies the development and regeneration programs of the ENS using zebrafish models.

Mujahid Al-A'asha was a postdoctoral researcher in her lab and is the lead author on the recent Stem Cell Reports paper from the lab entitled "Optimized Chemogenetic Ablation and Regeneration of Enteric Nervous System Neurons in the Zebrafish." Marlene Howe is senior research fellow in the Department of Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Melbourne, Australia, where she also earned her PhD.

Lincoln Stamp is an associate professor and N- NHMRC principal research fellow in the Department of Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Melbourne.

He received his PhD from Monash University, uh, and Marlene and Lincoln jointly lead a, a laboratory studying ENS development, its plasticity in adulthood, and the potential cell therapy for gastrointestinal diseases.

But, uh, I would say also the recommendation is also very important.

So if you work nicely in the nice environment and progressive environment, so you would have very nice recommendation moving forward.

And also, like, interesting, the interest- interesting thing is you should be connected in the scientists surrounding you through different channel like Zebrafish Roc, Blue Sky, X, so you get to know in your field what the scientists are doing, like their publications, their projects, and their news.

Or you can quarantine them for a few weeks before adding them to your display tank, which is even less popular.

Or you could just dump and pray and hope that you have the one-in-a-million Zebra Daniel group that makes it through the long term like a contestant in a TV reality series.

I don't know.

Or you can simply support retailers who offer consistently healthy, well-acclimated fishes from great sources.

And having a few small tanks, I knew that I couldn't keep even a fraction of all the fishes that I wanted to keep.

So I had to consider almost every possibility when contemplating any new addition to my collection.

Every Neon Ketra, every Zebra Daniel, every fish was given the same consideration as if it were some rare, expensive African Rift Lake Cichlid or an Asian Arowana or whatever.

I think it was easier to secure a U.S. Supreme Court nomination or win an Oscar than it was to get a spot in my aquariums.
