Zathura: A Space Adventure

Like, make an actually scary Jumanji, so thorough.

A Space Adventure, the family adventure game from 2005.

You could name the movie Do Not Play This.

It, it's a good movie.

And ju- just for some context, like, Mike De Luca played a big part in, in the, the formation of, uh, New Line Cinema, right? And, and had been an, a producer on things like, uh, [laughs] he started as a producer on Zathura, like an official-

But he's also got...

There's things you don't think of when you're working with kids.

Like, for Zathura we did the table read and the little boy, Jonah Bobo, who's so fucking cute-

... at the table read he never looked at his script once, right?

The film got two massive modern sequels with Dwayne Johnson.

And even in the literary world, Chris Van Allsburg actually followed up his original picture book with a sequel called Zathura.

Which took the board game concept into space.

And surprise, surprise, Jon Favreau turned that into a film adaptation as well.

Yeah, 100%.

Zathura is a much better J- uh, Jumanji film than Jumanji.

And I've never watched any other Jumanji.

I've watched the space Jumanji.

The more recent ones, where it's a video game, that's essentially the concept, is that in each film it's different people playing other characters.

So Jack Black's professor is essentially a different, although he looks like the same person, he's a different person.
