is exactly what he did and that's what martin perlman needs to take from this game i understand ivan angulo can play a role at left back or right back if you need him to But when you've got folks like Vino, who I don't think this is one of Vino's better games, you know, I'm not really going to dive too much into his performance, but it wasn't the best performance you wanted from Vino.

You had Taifi.

He's somebody I'm going to talk about a little bit later.

Put Angulo in the spots for him to be effective, and that's what you did in this game.

They obviously knew the biggest threat was Lua.

They knew that, you know, they knew Selassie and Zinkernaga were on the ends.

But really, what I think saved them a little bit better in this match, and you can look at it from the heat map, Zac Taifi didn't get as far forward in this match.

And this is where I want to hit on the idea of Zac Taifi.

His name is Ivan Angulo.

You know, easily in this game, Taifi could have played that role that Angulo is in right now.

Angulo would have gone more centrally, would have given a little bit more distribution.

Atuesta would have been more of like a true eight, even though to me he cannot defend.

Now, Martin Perlman, again, I think unnecessarily, and again, this is just my opinion, coach.

Don't hit me in the head.

But to me, again, you have Taifi there.

You forced to play a natural winger, a natural footballer, a guy who controls pace, controls tempo.

So my biggest gripe is stop playing guys who aren't fullbacks at fullback.

Even if we are down players, we had a right back on the bench in Taifi.

He should just be starting.

And then, you know, dropping DK again.

So who gets brought off? Who gets brought on for Iago? Was it Taifi? Well, the

60th minute we had Passage on for Ellis.

I like Justin Ellis here.

I think Ellis and Taifi could do good.

Now, talking about Taifi, which you mentioned earlier, um um ojeda uh you know the austin ojeda instead of martin ojeda right so and what cfc uses as you mentioned the wingers to stretch the defense so obviously they are they know how to put full backs out of position so this is another game in which taifi is going to have to remain disciplined on the right which he has i mean i think his performance um against dc was was great um and obviously doing that three-back ensures that he doesn't get caught too far forward.

And I think he's been doing a better job of not getting caught too far forward than Griffin Dorsey.

So to me, I just think that it is a no-brainer to have Taifi there.

I mean, I think... players need to play in their positions that they're better suited.

Same thing is with Thales.

the first, you know, just going to something as simple as the first goal, I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that if we had Taifi, back there and start defending that instead of Atuesta, that goal doesn't happen.

Or I bet you if we're playing with three center backs, that goal doesn't happen.

Because we've seen all season, what Angulo can do when you give him the ball kind of deep and he runs forward.

We've seen a bit what Zach Taifi can do when he receives the ball and moves forward.

So I thought that was just a good way for maybe for us to kick it off and kind of look at tactically how it kind of looks.

Because unfortunately, Martin Perlman doesn't like to share the sauce with us.

So no one's given me a straight answer as to why Taifi isn't just starting in this scenario.

I'm going to be honest this is one of the first games I haven't stayed up for this year I had stuff to do on Thursday so I couldn't stay up for it but I watched the highlights and we just give the ball away and give the ball away and give the ball away I was like what's that to us they're doing it right back and then I was like oh you played right back because you sent me a message and I was like is he joking is he serious and I looked at the team sheet and I was like what where's the right back at

I mean we're dropping into this back five really because Wilder keeps dropping into the back three so he was playing like right wing back but it's I mean

just everything.

And then the 90th minute, finally, Zach Taifi comes on for Edward Asterister.

Santi plays a beautiful ball in behind to Tapia, who gets on the ball in the box, tries to nutmeg Crepeau, but he saves it when he could've played a ball square to his right to Mendes for an easy wide open goal.

And Taifi gets on the ball and boots it forward.

It ends up with Angulo.

Bangura pokes it away.
