Just a couple days away from Wisconsin and opening up Big Ten play out in Happy Valley against Penn State.

So it's an enjoyable conversation that went for 30 plus minutes.

Now, again... usc's offense went right right up and down the field against ruckers as well so that would that's certainly going to be uh a challenge when you get to that game and we don't know what wisconsin gonna look like when you get to that game either um you know there's still a lot of time left who gets hurt who stays healthy like all that type of stuff so uh we'll we'll see when we get to it saturday though is uh certainly where it starts and it's it's not going to be uh easy and this is when you talk about Luke fickle and what he needs to do to, to hold onto his job, this, the stretch of his being, being able to show people that there has been progress and that they're moving in the right direction.

I don't want to go that far because we still know what the like still the biggest play on special teams the entire year is not a good one.

With someone who's not going to return kickoffs anymore, you would assume.

You know, Zach, I think Eastern Michigan's coach was just trying to teach his group a life lesson, which is to never give up until the final whistle.

actually run it but yeah i picked five not six because the reason i picked five i only got four when i had to run it like 12 years ago and then puked at the bottom of the hill totally embarrassing in front of the whole basketball team but as i say i think it inspired them onto a run to the national championship game because they they saw my efforts and they thought uh we're just we're super motivated after watching that amazing display of athleticism

And again, we're in a spot where we don't know the specifics of the injury and the severity of the injury, but we know that it was enough to have Luke talk about it and have him not practice last Tuesday and all those kinds of things.

How much is that in the back of his mind? You know, because you have to be for lack of a better way to put it kind of carefree out there.

I mean, you can't be wondering or worrying about your throws, but to your point, Zach, it's not like he's been the most accurate quarterback, but when you add that into the mix, it makes it exponentially more difficult.

Honestly, Zach, it makes no sense to me why you would play Colton this long if you know that He's not near 100% of all the games on the schedule that you could, I guess, get away with not utilizing a starting quarterback for an entire game.

Yeah, you don't want to put yourself in a spot where suddenly you're trailing and you're relying on a freshman quarterback, but that's not what

was going on.

I did not win too many others.

Zach Attack should have won a Grammy either way.

But I think I think there were that's not a real band.

But if they were, I wouldn't have expected him.

They had the kick scrimmage in April.

On the other hand, though, Zach, I think it's fair to say we knew this all along.

Fickling year four in Wisconsin as a program, it's not going to be judged on the outcome of the Notre Dame game.

Yeah, if Wisconsin would have been able to pull off one of the biggest upsets that the program has had in some time, maybe ever, it would have changed the trajectory of the season, potentially how we talked about them, how national people viewed the program.

Exactly.

So we're going to find out a hell of a lot about ourselves really quick here.

Zach, I can't tell you how many times I've written a quote similar to that in the last three years in my stories off games.

I want to say he did the same thing the whole, we're going to find out what we are, you know, at this point, the season starts now.

When you saw it, when you saw it were you like, "Eh"?

I gotta be honest, Zach.

Maybe it's because we're in the media, maybe it's because we do this every day and specifically cover Wisconsin.

Um, I look at what national pundits have to say, and I just don't care at all other than the fact that it creates a discussion like this.
