Z for Zachariah

So another bunker one.

Z for Zachariah from 2015 is a post-apocalyptic survival story that involves a young woman who believes she may be the last person alive, although the exact cause of the catastrophe is, again, less important to the plot.

The Book of Eli from 2010 takes place decades after a nuclear war has largely destroyed the U.S. Oh,

I forgot about that.

But yeah, this movie was adapted by Mark L. Smith and Christopher Wilkinson before it was directed by Ridley Scott.

As you say, this is much more of a movie like Z for Zachariah or The Road...

Much more of that than The Walking Dead.

Much more about people living in a post-apocalyptic world fighting amongst each other.

And I think one of the issues with the picture is that it feels like it's the first one of these.

Like, we haven't had 20, 30 years of Last of Us, Walking Dead, The Road, The Book of Eli, Z for Zachariah, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

and it's like there's nothing else to say.

And the one thing that I did get out of it, other than that one sequence, is it's fun watching Jacob Elorde play a nice person who isn't a, you know, hot, sexy, problematic fave in a romantic melodrama, which he's very good at.
