Could you tell us more about how the Canadian government approaches the relationship between indigenous communities and tech policy, and what are the lessons Taiwan could learn from them?
4:24
Yeah, so I think one cases that is very solid and feasible in Taiwan as well is that the Canadian government, they have a series of indigenous past perspectives, like online courses and resources for all the researchers and who are funded by the government to develop AI to have that course first.
4:48
So they kind of like mandate to learn from that series of indigenous perspectives while they are working on their AI project.
4:57
So I think that's a good starting point because once all these people who build up the AI models have this awareness of either the indigenous cultures or know more about the perspectives from the indigenous communities, then the system or the model they design will reflect that.
5:18
Yeah, I was just possibly thinking that this is an, an approach that Taiwanese government might work on, and I don't think it's a very difficult thing because we already have so many, like, research centers around Taiwan, especially in the universities.
5:34
They are working on indigenous knowledges, and there are also professions or professors who are in the field of indigenous studies.
5:42
So if we want them to create this, like a syllabus or courses online, I think it's, it should be feasible.
9:50
Have you seen similar problems in Taiwan's international engagement, especially when it comes to cultural diplomacy programs that involve indigenous communities? And how would you envision an indigenous diplomacy practice perhaps in the future?
