You Are My Sunshine

And, and perhaps together we can sing what Stalin wrote many, many years ago.

You are my sunshine.

I'll talk to you on Thursday.

Okay.

I would say I've never met somebody who doesn't have a favorite piece of music or a piece of music they grew up with, right, that they remember from childhood.

So the title of the book is drawn from the song, You Are My Sunshine.

And so that was my mom's favorite song.

And she would sing it to us when we were kids, and I sang it to my own kids in turn.

And you know, to me, my mother was the paragon of kindness.

And so I asked the audience to do me a kindness and sing.

You are my sunshine to my mother who was in the audience.

And she, you know, she mouthed it along.

And we also meet someone who remembers the searing pain of being a little girl abandoned by her parents not once, but twice.

In 1975, the mother who held her and sang, You Are My Sunshine, and her artist father announced to their child they'd been selected to live as space angels.

And even the Bible says disciples can't bring children.

Kelly is just 10 years old.

We were talking about traitors, real housewives of North Dakota State.

What was the other one? The other one was, oh, You Are My Sunshine, the Brady Bunch reenactment story.

I don't know.

It's by housewives of Orange County or something like that.

Over on the men's side, the horror is just as strong.

Connor Wood and Riley Arnold are dancing a contemporary routine to You Are My Sunshine, inspired by Annabelle Creation, which is a deeply unsettling song choice once you think about it, because that sweet little song paired with a haunted doll movie is the stuff of nightmares.

Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson are also going contemporary, theirs to Toxic, inspired by Saw, and Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess are slowing things down with a Viennese waltz inspired by Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Now let's talk about what's already happened this season, because the field has been narrowing fast.
