You and I Are Polar Opposites

With all of that out of the way, let's drop in, mask up, and go back to the far-flung distant year of 2021.

We'll be back next week with a proper review and discussion of You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2.

Bye-bye! I

must scratch banana brain.

So, Ark, why don't you tell us your third place best intro?

So my third place goes to Neko Jirashi by Sevenko, at least I think that's how you pronounce it, for You and I Are Polar Opposites.

That is a good one.

I did like that one.

So...

My turn to go first for number two.

And my number two is You Are the One by Mega Shinnosuke for You and I Are Polar Opposites.

And again, it's just in a very different way, but equally appropriate for these kids.

Sorry, you're right.

And then some of the runners up in that category are Dan to Dan, You and I Are Polar Opposites, um centuria uh so a pretty auspicious category so obviously some some legit like huge titles on both sides so here's here's what i want to present to you as a question is i call the chicken and egg question is next manga having a prominent role in launching this series or is it merely the canary in the coal mine that's that's calling people's attention to things that have already exploded which do you think it is or is it some combination of the two

I think it's more the latter, to be honest.

I think most, if not all, of these series already had a following to some degree in the nature of the fact that it's a popularity contest voted by the public.

Some of them are, yeah, I think.

I mean, you've got stuff like Boku Yaba, which is clearly something very different.

You and I Are Polar Opposites has become quite popular.

And that's a romance of basically three couples, but there's no competition element to it.

okay

uh well that's the second one The first one is you and I are polar opposites season two.

I very much like this season more than the first, right? The first season, I know, Zach, I think you gave it a six.

think i rounded up to a seven but it was very like borderline 6.5

Now, on to today's episode.

We are doing season two of You and I Are Polar Opposites.

This is one of the only animes that has me break my rule.

What's my rule? I'm glad you asked.

I've been watching Keso a lot, and his horror Minecraft run that he's doing right now is great.

Anyway, total side tangent.

Back to you and I are polar opposites, season two.

This one, for the most part, starts us kind of right off of where season one ends.

Oh my God.

Um, um let's see uh ghost in the show because a lot i don't know what it is about this series but i don't retain it um no but um i am almost finished with you and i are polar opposites um i love it i love it so much great great show um I'm almost finished with Chainsmoker Cat.

Almost finished with that one.

And I'm probably about halfway through the Girls Can't Play Fighting Games anime, which is very charming.

Is it worth it? Yeah, I wasn't

even...

i didn't i wasn't even aware that the season was about to be over until um i went to have a one free moment and watch and watch um you and i are polar opposites and i was like oh shit it's a new season the season clicked over on mal so i haven't even like looked at the new season yet but um just like scanning through it while we were all talking like i don't I don't see too, too much that like, it looks like I would watch it.

And what happened to all the things that were supposed to come out? And this happens every, every year where everybody gets so hyped about new series coming out or like continuing.

Me too.

There, um, was the second to last episode of You and I Are Polar Opposites, and it's just, it's really...

I like it.

I mean, it's a high school romance, but they have, like, three different couples that they really focus on.

Um, I don't think I could f- find it.

Let me look.

Eight point-- Um, You and I Are Polar Opposites has an 8.5 on MAL.

Mm.

It really solidifies to me what I love about anime, and that is just the high energy, the just entertainment without even trying that it can be when it's firing on all cylinders.

And I really think that Ouran exemplifies what I want from more comedy shows, which is why we like other romance comedies, rom-coms like, like You and I Are Polar Opposites, because it kind of carries the torch that Ouran may- maybe didn't s- pick up, but kind of, you know, waved around so everybody could see it.

Uh, so for me, I think Ouran is just an amazing show.

Does it still stand the test of time? I think in some ways, yes.
