You Am I

So I tried to muscle in and there was a couple, one of them, the woman was wearing a, uh, Midnight Oil T-shirt.

Everyone was wearing, like, Screamfeeder, You Am I, Midnight Oil, like, all Australian rock band T-shirts.

Mm-hmm.

It was hilarious.

Tim Rogers, Andy Kent, Davey Lane, Rusty Hopkinson.

That is You Am I and the Ocean.

We are live at the Corner Hotel in Richmond, the Triple M Fest.

JB and Bill, Triple M's Rush Hour.

Red did some good stuff.

Notably, they filmed You Am I's hourly daily album launch in 1996, which was later released as a VHS, and they were on ground and filmed the second Homebake, the first in Sydney with Spiderbait and Regurgitator.

But Red was exclusive to Foxtel and Galaxy.

Optus Vision couldn't get it, and Optus Vision customers couldn't get it, so they made their own music channel called ARC Music.

They had a glitzy launch in Sydney and they stepped on the toes of the Red relaunch, which Red decided to move because it was too close to the ARC launch.

They even competed for performers at their launches.

You Am I were at one and Silverchair was at the other.

Both Red and ARC offered similar programming: music videos, some interview shows, some live concerts, and a raft of specialist shows for hard rock, dance and other genres.
