York Knights

So it, it looks to be the way it was reported.

It seemed to be similar to that of the York Knights and the Newcastle Thunder last year.

Um, there has, there has actually been some contrasting things I've heard this week.

Um, Aaron Bauer and Matt Shaw talked about it a couple of weeks ago, I think on the Loverably podcast, and they were talking about how, um, how in-depth this partnership actually could be in terms of what they'd heard.

And tonight, it's team number 10 and team number 9.

Team number 10, of course, was York Knights.

And what a season.

Mark Appelgarf's men brought to the Betfred Super League.

Absolutely superb.

And despite a late rally, again, by that man on the screen against the Wigan Warriors in round 15 at home, where they lost 72 points to 20, that would have to be considered to probably be their worst performance of the season in terms of how they competed.

Our Super League Raw Player of the Year... for the York Knights, Cody Hunter.

I felt he was apt, don't get me wrong, there was other players, Paul Vaughan had a great season, Paul McShane did, Xavier VAR I felt was really good value.

That's awesome.

Yeah, well, our head coach, Willy, is actually the assistant coach for York Knights, which is one of the best Super League teams in rugby league.

So, you know, we have really great coaching.

But I also find it makes me a much more versatile union player by doing both codes.

My initial thing, there's lots that we could talk about within that.

York Knights are in 14th place on 13.24. [lip smacks] Barrow, team 15 currently in IMG, 9.85. You s- you made a point before when you said about dividing, you know, IMG divides teams, it divides people and stuff like that.

There's never been a bigger gulf between Super League and not Super League in IMG.

So when we crossed over last season, you know, we were, we were going to be a championship club.

I will be talking about that too because of what Wakefield have just done.

Now, to me, the... two sides of the sandwich the start of the Super League with the entrance the fact that the Bradford Bulls the Toulouse Olympic and York Knights were in the competition I like the fact that it brought something else I like the fact York got a shot win I like the fact Bradford got a couple of shot wins I like the fact Toulouse Toulouse beat the champions in round one right

and And then

at the end, on the other side of the sandwich, I think there's a big problem, though, which is the meat in the middle, isn't there? So for me, if there's some negatives, it's the spread of talent across the extra teams.

I will be talking about that too because of what Wakefield have just done.

And you go back to January when we found out there was gonna be two new teams in the competition and, and who those teams were gonna be.

And you look at the fixture list and you look, oh, York have got a home game against Hull KR first, uh, first week, so Hull KR can prepare for the World Cup Challenge, the so-called easy fixture where York Knight-

... without a victory.
