Yeshivat Hakotel

High school is the Yeshiva, HaYechida, Yeshivat Bnei Akiva, BeChutz La'aretz, the only official at that time.

I don't know if it's changed, Bnei Akiva, Yeshiva BeChutz La'aretz, Yeshivat HaKotel.

So you get the sense of where I'm coming from.

Wonderful background in every way, uh, very appreciative of that background.

But while I'm in Yeshivat HaKotel, as good as it was, when I had a break, I went to Aish HaTorah, and Aish HaTorah was-- I was mesmerized.

I was mesmerized by the give and take of the Baals Teshuvah movement, by Rav Noach Weinberg, zetza"l himself, by the logic there, by the, uh, proofs of God, proofs of Torah MiSinai.

And I was captivated, and I made a s- decision, I, I want to, I want to go to outreach, and that's it.

That's, that's where your-

And Yeshivat HaKotel.

Yeah.

Do you know where-

But, uh, as soon as I was 18, I went to yeshiva, and I went to yeshiva with the goal of I'm going to stay on in Israel, I'm going to live my whole life there.

I went to Yeshivat HaKotel for a couple years.

I started hopping a little bit around different yeshivas, Hashkafa searching.

I never really stayed in one place, and I wasn't affiliated with one institution, but I went, I went around a few different yeshiva after that.

Once I started on the Marxist bent, and particularly with Gramsci, these thinkers that sit at the intersection between Jewish nationalism and socialist ideals, uh, these, these were the ones that, that interested me the most.

And so that, that was, for me, that was Ahad HaAm and, and Moshe Hess.

So what are you at that point, the salad that you are when you get to Yeshivat HaKotel?

I wasn't a Marxist, um, at that point.
