The attacks are escalating ahead of Israel's election on Tuesday, where opinion polls show Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his pro-settler coalition could lose to opponents who have taken a harder line on settler violence.

Ziv Stahl is the director of Israeli human rights organization Yesh Din.

She says in some cases the military forces were actually with them.

They come in 25% of the cases with soldiers who come to protect them and to allow them and assist them to actually commit a crime to violate the rights of the Palestinians.

The president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, has said that the view of the vast, vast majority should be respected when it comes to the decision on whether he is fit to lead the governing body of global football.

Talking to BBC Sport, head of the opening ceremony of the Under-15s World Cup, Mr Infantino told Laura Scott, it is OK to disagree, but we have to move on, when he was asked if he could prepare his relationship with Europe's football organisation, UEFA.

We can't make everyone happy, he said.

Well, you know, I was elected by 211 member associations from all over the world.

And around 1,000 Palestinian families, they are locked in their homes since yesterday.

Well, even before yesterday's gun attack, there had been rising tensions in the West Bank.

The organisation Yesh Din, Volunteers for Human Rights, an Israeli group, says since the start of the month there have been 672 incidents of violence by Jewish settlers in the West Bank.

Nearly half are related to the annual olive harvest.

Originally, because this is like at the top of 2022, and what we're responding to is the deluge of human rights reports that come out.

If you remember, B'Tselem, Yesh Din, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty, all produce these human rights reports.

But yet, even though these human rights reports are saying that Israel is an apartheid regime, none of them are actually giving us a racial theory of zionism they don't touch it which means they're not touching colonialism and so you know it's what john comes to you call you know apartheid without race right

right

Israeli soldiers and Israeli police have been documented assisting mass settler attacks.

So the Israeli human rights organization, Yesh Din, have themselves documented nearly 30 organized mass violence incidents between 2023 and November 2025.

In 16 of those, soldiers of police were reported to be present and assisted the attack, either directly or indirectly.

Of monitored Israeli police investigations into attack, 93.6% closed without an indictment.

He was born and raised in Jerusalem to a British mother and a Palestinian Christian citizen of Israel father.

He works for Yesh Din.
