Nestled in the rolling Somerset countryside, the gardens created by Sarah Mead and her team are renowned for their naturalistic planting, wildlife-friendly ethos, and commitment to organic growing.

Hello, I'm Claire Veness from the magazine.

Oh, thank you very much indeed for having me.

Hello, Claire.

Well, the Yeo Valley Organic Garden has become one of the UK's most celebrated organic gardens.

Can you tell us a little bit more about its origins and, and how it's evolved over the years?

Their fields remain parched, dried out and with nothing for livestock to graze on.

But Will Mayer from Yeo Valley Farms in Somerset says that's not the case for farmers who've been using a system of herbal lays, pasture sown with a diverse mix of grasses, legumes and deep-rooted herbs and rotational grazing.

Fiona Clampin has been to meet Will to see why he's so convinced that this is the way to go if hot and dry summers become the norm.
