Yennefer

So you read the first story and you get the sense of what Geralt does, who he is, what a Witcher is, what the world setup is like.

um he gets injured at the end of that story and he ends up at a temple and then that brings us to our connective tissue of the book which is in between every short story you have the voice of reason short stories which are even shorter they're like many many stories and those essentially lead into Geralt sort of reflecting back on different events he's experienced that lead up to him leaving the temple and so you get this sense of not only Geralt as a character the world you get introduced to Dandelion his best friend his uh on and off again love interest Yennefer his situation his situationship um and you get the the promise that he makes for Ciri.

So the only thing I know about Yennefer to this day is still that they fucked on a unicorn at one point.

That's a point that gets brought up early on in like the third game for some reason when she's introduced

And then you get Dandelion, you get to know him, then you get the story of Geralt going to Cintra and dealing with the situation for the Queen.

Not Pavetta, that's the daughter.

Kalanthi and sort of at the end of that him being like okay so you're gonna promise me the thing that you don't know that you have and that turns out to be Ciri because Pavetta's pregnant and then you meet Yennefer that being the last story and they fuck after Geralt's last wish is to save her life and bind their fates together and then be fucking the wreckage of an inn there's a theme with that yeah the second book has none of that It's just a collection of stories that kind of lay bare what The Witcher does at its best and at its worst, which is be inspired by European folklore and fairy tales.

It do- it doesn't change radically, but there are a few things.

And one of them is, is that you can pick, uh, your love interest to be Triss instead of Yennefer.

So I picked Triss when I f- and when I did my playthrough.

So this time-

Why would you do that? Yennefer's clearly hotter.

And honestly, it was great to just see Geralt and Yennefer again.

If I was going to be any of the women in the show, I'd want to be Yennefer, that's for sure.

Or like the woman...

I mean, I make no qualms.

He stated he saw no reason to do so.

Which is such a strong statement.

For him, the universe is Geralt.

By stating he sees no reason to write a Yennefer spinoff, he is revealing a core literary philosophy.
