What's more, these new creations arise by music and water.

It is Yavanna who sings a song of power, and Nienna, another female Vala, who sits in silence and sheds tears upon the mold to give it growth.

Thus, these two important elements are shown to give new life where destruction had come, even in the earliest ages of Arda.

Light, that sort of thing.

Yavanna, the Fruit Giver, Plants, Earth.

Nienna, the Weeper, Lady of Mercy.

Este, Gentle, Lady of Healing and Rest.

Yeah, we have Alatar bringing Palando, which is its own weird dynamic.

Right, but the real friction comes from Yavanna.

Yavanna is the vala of nature, of all growing things.

And Tolkien's notes reveal that she actively pleaded with Karim al-Saruman to take one of her own mayor, Iwendal, along with him.

And I, Wendell, of course, becomes Radagast.

It is such a remarkable moment of divine lobbying.

It really is.

Because Yavanna understands that a mission led by a Maya of all, a spirit of industry and metal, might prioritize the geopolitical maneuvering of men and elves.
