A YAMAM, which is the National Counterterror Unit, squad under the command of Superintendent Arnon Zamora- Was racing down the highway toward another hotspot when they came across the raging battle at the Yad Mordechai junction.

Immediately, these highly trained officers ordered the local forces to cease fire, charged to the ditch where the militants were entrenched, and wiped out the first wave of 13 terrorists in a brutal hour-long clash.

But the danger wasn't over.

And so the story is told more from a tactical lens.

And also, I interviewed, you know, a couple of the IDF soldiers who were on the ground, one of the YAMAM operators who was on the ground.

And so it just gives a different perspective to what war looks like, and you hear from soldiers themselves.

Well, yeah.

Uh, the picture that you have up, that is Arnon Zamora.

He really is the hero of the story.

Uh, Arnon Zamora, Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora was a member of the YAMAM, uh, unit, a special team within Israeli border police.

They are experts in hostage rescue, extractions, and close-quarter combat.

And that was one thing that really impressed me when I went to Israel to get these interviews.

You know, when I was on the ground to, uh, for production for this documentary, the war was still going on, and I had the opportunity in the documentary to interview two of the IDF soldiers who were on the ground, one of the YAMAM operators who was also in charge of breaching the houses, and then also the parents of Arnon Zamora.

Arnon Zamora, who the documentary was-- I mean, the, uh, operation was later renamed after, Operation Arnon.

Uh, he was one of the lead breachers in this, uh, pursuit, and unfortunately, he succumbed to some heavy wounds and did not survive the operation.

And here was the successful operation that brought back four hostages.

How is it not just exploding in the media? And as I began to look into it, the special unit, that pulled off the extraction are called the Yamam, similar to what our Delta Force and DEVGRU do in the United States.

And so they focus primarily on hostage extraction and close quarter combat.

They were the unit that went in on the ground and pulled these hostages out of these two houses.

And yes, one of the leaders of the operation, Arnon Zamora, he's the chief inspector with the Yamam Special Unit, Unfortunately he got hit.

and he succumbed to his wounds.

He did not survive the operation.

The other one was from the Paratrooper Brigade.

Yeah.

It's a kind of a SWAT team of the Shin Bet with the YAMAM that were sent early in the morning, the police on the terror unit that are working with the Shin Bet together, and they were sent there because the Shin Bet and the army had some kind of an intelligence that something is happening on the border.

They didn't know what is happening, so this is why they sent the first team, and this is why we s- we show Eli going there.

Then of course, the Bedouin guy that was murdered there.
