Yakima River

The low shores gave us a chance to see the Blue Mountains south of Walla Walla, Walula, and those that go to Puget Sound or Mount Rainier.

We left behind us on the right the Yakima River, and below and on the left the Snake River, also called Lewis and Clark, which appeared to be five hundred feet wide.

On Sunday the eighteenth, we arrived early in the morning at Fort Walla Walla, built on the left bank of the Columbia, a short distance from the river of that name.

Peter Chrysolog Pambrum, Esquire, in charge of that important fort, a Catholic, received the two missionaries with the greatest cordiality.

We can minimize our impact on juvenile wild steelhead.

Which a lot of juvenile wild steelhead, e- even when a male and female steelhead spawn in, in our immediate area here, not all of them de- decide to take the course of going to the ocean and then coming back.

And that's one of the challenges with rebuilding our steelhead run here on the Yakima River.

It's been studied, and a lot of those offspring just decide, "Hey, the living here is pretty good.
