And when he retired, there was no point really carrying on without him.

So I happened to come across Yachting World in WH Smith, read it, and there was a course in the back.

Zero to hero.

Nobody to captain.

But that was probably my closest shave and, uh, and I think I crushed two vertebrae in my back.

It's our pleasure.

And also I knew my boat and I'd sailed up 20,000 miles.

The only person who said, watch out for Knox Johnson, he's the dark horse, was the editor of Yachting World.

And he'd been in the Merchant Navy.

And he said, that's the one to watch out for.

Right, which is, you're never going to get that now.

Like who is going anywhere to learn that stuff? If you used to read Rudder Magazine in the US or if you're reading Yachting World in the UK, it was more like popular mechanics.

It was kind of for everybody.

But then the racing scene gets in there and then the cruising scene gets in there and everyone splits up into their separate camps.
