Voters swung the other way when we look at the federal races where a founding member of the state Freedom Caucus took the GOP nomination for Congress and Trump-backed Harriet Hageman found success in her bid to move from the House to the Senate.

In an acceptance speech in Cheyenne, she says she's excited to give the Wyoming Republican Party some competition.

Both advanced to the general election along with two others in the open race for governor.

Democrats Jonathan Kreiss-Tom- Tompkins and Tom Begich finished first and second and will move forward alongside two Republicans.

Incumbent Republican representative Begich also advanced comfortably.

Wyoming Republicans nominated State Senator Eric Barlow for governor, defeating the Trump-endorsed candidate, while Representative Harriet Hageman won the Senate primary for secretary of state.

Chuck Gray captured the House nomination.

Finally, in California's 14th District special runoff to replace former representative Eric Swalwell, progressive Democrat Aisha Wahab h- held a narrow early lead over fellow Democrat Melissa Hernandez.
