Wycliffe Gordon

This was 2001, 2002 at Juilliard, which was a great experience.

I got to study with Wycliffe Gordon and took wonderful composition classes with David Berger and, history classes with Phil Schaap and Lauren Schoenberg, like all these incredible guys and gals.

Many of my colleagues I play with today are, you know, former students from those schools, both of those schools.

But Juilliard was great because it opened a lot of doors.

This opportunity is just so amazing for any musician.

I've had a great time working with Matt Wilson and Wycliffe Gordon and so many other amazing people.

And it's such an honor to be around them and get to experience all the things they have to say.

Right on, Sophia.

And, um, you know, I was, I wasn't super sought after, but I was sought after, because I was, like, the, you know, one of the new hot, hot things in, in New York at the time.

So, at the time, um, in, in the band, the Jazz at Lincoln Center, the, uh, James Carter was, was in the band, and Wycliffe Gordon was in the band.

And, um, they were all being s- They all were being or got signed to Atlantic at the s- around the same time, and the guy from Atlantic was, was courting, courting me also.

But the thing was is that I, I, I wound up signing with Atlantic eventually, but I didn't sign with them initially, or that w- or my record Ethnomusicology Vol.

Thank you.

Wycliffe Gordon, very talented.

All righty, let's talk about the overshadowed here.

Um, Chop Robinson, Dolphins defensive end, 10 total pressures, three quarterbacks hit, had a sack.
