Wycliffe Global Alliance

So today I'm thrilled to welcome a dear friend and gifted leader, Nicky Chong.

Nicky is the Asia Pacific Area Director for the Wycliffe Global Alliance.

He's also served as the Wycliffe Singapore Director previously and in many other leadership and ministry roles.

So Nicky, it's a delight to have you with me today and thanks for connecting from Singapore.

Take my hand, oh precious Lord, and help me on my way.

The 153 North Americans who live at Loma Linda are all members of the Wycliffe Bible Translators, the second-largest missionary organization in the world.

The Summer Institute of Linguistics is the scientific arm of Wycliffe and operates in 10 Latin American countries.

They entered Colombia in 1962 on a contract with the Colombian government to study the languages of the Indian tribes.

This is where we have put 90% of our effort.

Some South American governments refuse to admit Protestant missionaries.

By adopting the name the Summer Institute of Linguistics, the Wycliffe Bible Translators have a scientific and cultural front which makes them acceptable in Catholic-dominated countries.

Your primary objective is to get the word to the tribes.
