WWV

I was afraid that WWVH would be knocked off the air.

I kept monitoring on 10 MHz, which propagates well to here late at night, when WWV itself skips over.

And it was still being heard, WWVH, September 8th, around 0630, and September 9th on 10,000 kHz.

The website nist.gov has a page showing broadcast outages for those stations, and it did not show any WWVH outages since April 5th.

Ron Howard in California continues to monitor Indonesia's only remaining regional shortwave station, RRI Naviri Program 1, on 7289.9.

New Elliott and his international broadcasting column for the NASA Journal has a modest proposal about reviving CHU.

It was useful for the exact time here in eastern USA because WWV out west in Colorado was not always audible.

How can we restore CHU or at least its functions without burdening the Canadian government budget? My suggestion, make it a commercial station.

Note that the NIST.gov website does have quite a list of radio station WWV and WWVH broadcast outages, but none recently.

By the way, according to news reports, I could not help but note that two former shortwave sites of World Harvest Radio have been hit by disasters.
