And I saw footage of it, and I contacted the lads that were doing it, and I said, this is fucking brilliant.

But because we haven't had a Wren Day event or walk or parade or whatever you want to call it, because of that, we don't know what a Limerick Wren looks like anymore.

People used to dress up in straw and look like wicker men because straw was what was cheap, disposable, and readily available.

Straw is no longer readily available and cheap in Limerick City.

So I was asked to give some thoughts and ideas about what a Limerick Wren would look like.

So I met with them this week to throw a few ideas around about what December 26th would look like this year.

And I said, an authentic Wren Day should actually reflect real folklore, contemporary folklore, and stories that are relevant to people's lives in Limerick right now.

So the first idea I pitched was, did you hear about the Limerick 9-11? Now I'll explain to you what the Limerick 9-11 is.
