World Brewers Cup

I mean, you'd use drip scales on a drip tray of your own.

but there's no timer on the on the machine as well um you know you've got just a column of pour over kettles and and scales on the front bar as well and you're just making unbelievable coffee and there's a menu that's like probably at most 10 coffees long so those 10 coffees because there's a difference between having a menu of 50 coffees and making them good and having a few coffees and making them like world brewers cup level and you know i've got a staff member in my employee named alex moore who came second in the brewers cup and it is amazing how far you can take one coffee so imagine if you've got a team of people that you know on any given day they're only making two or three coffees themselves in their section so you could have milk section you could have a brew espresso you could have a filter

and they all

have three coffees at most that are just going to be dialed to perfection that chris mabry is what i want to do in this lifetime

We spend a lot of time or most of our time trying to figure out how to become better coffee roasters because that's something we feel there's a lot of room to grow into.

Then the course of the company, let's say, developed a little bit back in 2019, where I brought the first version of the April Brewer to the World Brewers Cup stage.

We got second place that year and then launched a product after.

And from there, really, we started to produce various coffee equipment, like April related coffee equipment.

And a big change there was actually COVID.

It was the World Brewers Cup and then COVID came.

And COVID resulted in the first April store.

You just visited the second one, but the first one, a little bit of a smaller venture.

And not long after that, you're a supervisor and now you run the whole business.

So it's a really interesting story from, you know, last year you had never worked in a cafe before and now you're really... knees deep in it and you've just competed in the Brewers Cup as well.

So yeah, congratulations so far on everything you've always done.

I don't know if I give you the appraisal as a boss as much as I should, but you've done really well.

So stuff like that, like investing in someone, they will reinvest in you down the line.

And so that's all part of it.

And so this kind of essentially linking back to your Brewers Cup routine, this kind of made up for your – this made up your routine essentially.
