But then this opportunity came about where the business were sort of looking into residential markets and linked to off-site manufacturing as well.

With apartments that were being potentially constructed off-site at their facility at Worksop.

I think with the business, they looked at this sort of, got involved with certain projects in King's Cross and some other areas, but I felt that probably the risk profile and market price point wasn't fitting our sort of operating model.

And probably after a couple of years, I then went into another part of the business, which was centrally with the operations role I'm currently doing.

And they've started really well this year.

I think when you look at their results, they've won three games already.

that they probably should have against Radcliffe, Worksop and Southport.

It was a celebrated school.

Many Liverpool boys were there with me, the Muspretts, Hornbys, Langstons, etc., and though we worked hard, we had plenty of relaxation in the workshop and the playing fields, besides long walks in the lovely parks that surround Worksop and which are known as the Dukeries.

During these walks, we were encouraged to botanize, collect birds' eggs, etc., and the love of nature which was in this way inculcated has been one of the delights of my life.

The noble owners of these parks were most kind to the boys.

In the autumn, Sir Thomas Whyte always gave us a day's outing, beating up game for him.

This we also greatly enjoyed, and how we devoured the bread and cheese and small beer which the keepers provided us for lunch! We were taken by the directors of the Manchester, Sheffield, and Lincolnshire Railway to the opening of the new docks at Grimsby.

I feel like I'm actually just here to try and build a community.

I spoke to this woman the other day that owns some coffee shops in Worksop.

And she was like, I just get from seeing your videos, you are not about just selling your class to people.

You are wanting to build a safe place for mums, pregnant mums, new mums, mums with toddlers.

I didn't really enjoy it down there.

So I came back up north and went into the non-league system and ended up at Worksop within the first year, um, and had quite a successful time there, and then moved down to Woking.

Wasn't the best experience down there, in all honesty.

Uh, I think there's quite a lot of troubles going on there now as well.

But I just wanted to get back enjoying my football, and obviously I'd played against the...

I played against Scarborough a couple times, um, for Buxton on loan last year and Worksop, and always liked the way the manager, uh, the approach the manager gave him himself in interviews, and how he handled himself on and off the pitch, and ultimately the way the lads played and, and, and the, the quality of the team.

So it was a bit of a no-brainer really.
