South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on Saturday that North Korea has fired ballistic missiles several times toward the sea from the country's east coast.

The military said the missiles were launched from the Wonsan area at around five twenty AM.

The ballistic missile launches were the first since August twentieth and flew about two hundred and fifty kilometers.

Saturday's actions came a day after Japan, the US, and South Korea wrapped up trilateral joint exercises.

The short-range ballistic missiles were fired at around 5.20 a.m. Saturday from an area near Wonsan on North Korea's eastern coast and flew around 250 kilometers towards the East Sea, according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff.

South Korea and the U.S. are analyzing radar and other data to determine details about the projectiles, which appear to fly toward mock targets on an island in the East Sea.

Sources suggest that the latest projectiles consist of the North Hwasong-11 line short-range ballistic missile, as well as ammunition from 600mm multiple rocket launchers.

North Korea has fired several short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea, according to South Korea.

The launches came early Saturday from the Wonsan area on North Korea's east coast.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missiles were launched at around 5.20 a.m. local time and traveled about 250 kilometers before heading toward the sea.

South Korean and U.S. authorities are now analyzing the missiles' specifications.

As many as three freight trains a day rumbled over the bridge between those cities and continued along the west coast to Pyongyang.

Supplies were also received from Vladivostok by water to Chongjin or by the east coast rail line to Wonsan.

It must also be remembered that thousands of Korean veterans of the Chinese Civil War returned with their arms and equipment, including American-manufactured weapons surrendered by the Nationalists.

The NKPA was second only to the Soviet Army itself in the spring of 1950 as the best-armed and equipped military force of its size in the Far East.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea held a commissioning ceremony for the Hong Kong destroyer.

Top leader Kim Jong-un attended the event in Wonsan.

He described it as a manifestation of the DPRK's economic, defense, scientific, and technological capabilities.
