Women's National Football Conference

Yeah, Union Jack was a great weekend, um, overall, really great experience.

And yeah, I've had an exciting week with the WNFC, um, being on a podcast with Matt as well, and, um, also, yeah, just trying to figure out this decision stuff.

So it's been, it's been a bit ex- anxious and a bit nerve-wracking, but yeah, it's, it's also been quite exciting as well and, yeah.

Otherwise I'm here, I'm chilling.

But just like, "Hey, that's a pretty cool interaction." Well then fast-forward to December, I'm like, "Let's do a little bit more reach out." So I reached out for more people.

Well then, Dev can attest to this, at the end of every show I ask one question: Who would you like me to recommend, or who would you recommend for me to interview next that I could do an interview that you would watch? So that started trickling, and then I got a MMA fighter who just was on the Dana White's Contender Series.

Then it went into, um, Maria Vitali for the WNFC, and that's where the WNFC started.

Well then I forgot who it was, but they introduced me to somebody for the WFA, and then that started.

It makes my soul feel good.

I made a comment about the WNFC, Women's National Football Conference.

This tackle is pretty gay, and we're still growing now.

Going into our eighth season.

Mm-hmm.

And we love that you're writing in saying this.

Also, the Women's National Football Conference, do y'all need a quarterback?

Right.

She came into this growth seat after years on the marketing side of the business, and in February, she was the voice of a first-of-its-kind deal.

First Line signed on as the official textured hair accessories partner of the Texas Elite Spartans, the five-time champions of the Women's National Football Conference, and the first sponsorship of its kind in women's professional tackle football.

More than 70% of that roster has textured hair.

The partnership centers on the Evolve collection and runs across athlete storytelling, game day presence, and product integration as the Spartans move to Arlington.

It's like everyone here understands that something historic is going on.

The Storm is Oakland's first women's tackle football team, and only the 16th team in the WNFC, the Women's National Football Conference.

Number nine, Chris Grimes on the carry for a gain of nine.

Brought down by number six, Beatrice Rico.

Girls flag football is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, but tackle football opportunities are rare.

Most girl and non-binary athletes who want to play tackle have to join their school's boys team.

which is why athletes on the Storm and all WNFC teams are up for making big sacrifices to play the sport they love, despite the fact that none of them are paid to play.

Here's Chris Grimes.

So there's a lot of growth in flags.

But what's been exciting, particularly the WNFC, is getting bigger.

They're really leading a cultural shift showing that.

11-on-11 tackle football is also an available path for women.

Sure.

How many teams are in this football league?

There are 16 teams across the country in the WNFC and the Golden State Storm out here in California is the newest team, but we actually have three in the state of California.

It is a growing sport for sure.
