Women's International Democratic Federation

One through a more welfarist approach, one through local politics.

I got to interview, uh, a woman called Vidia Munshi, who'd also been very active in the National Federation of Indian Women and who'd, um, been involved, in fact, was present at the very first meeting of the Women's International Democratic Federation, which was established in, uh, Paris in, uh, I think it was in the 1940s.

Uh, this was, uh, an organi- a transnational organization of, uh, o- of women which kind of brought women from all over the world together.

Um, and then, uh, very luckily was able to interview a woman who'd been part of the Telangana struggle, and, um, uh, Gargi Chakravarti, the daughter of Renu Chakravarti, who was very involved in the National Federation of Indian Women.
