women's basketball

And so when you have really good people in those roles, I, I think that, that matters.

And we're fortunate on the women's basketball side to kinda continue that legacy of having people who really care about this place, people who, um, you know, who really, uh, treat people the right way, take care of their business, and, and, and Missy certainly does that.

Missy, like all our coaches, uh, are very involved in the community, all involved, uh, in things around the state of Mississippi and the, the cor- connecting states around us.

And, uh, Missy's one of those.

And so ...

And we've seen that.

You know, we've seen that in the support w- from the community and from the area, and, uh, people who, you know, maybe aren't necessarily Southern Miss people, uh, but who are showing up to women's basketball and supporting her.

And, and, uh, so all that matters.

Yes.

Yeah, I think the official announcement comes out today, but I'll be covering Nebraska, UNO, and Creighton women's basketball this year.

So super pumped to be back in the college basketball setting.

All right, Alexis.

They've had their first five-star recruit in a while, and ashlyn copel and um as well as ava miles and i think they'll add a unique dynamic i always feel like freshmen kind of have no fear come in fearless willing to do whatever they need to for the team so um i think if it all clicks and they have the right leadership and everyone kind of plays to their strengths and their roles um they'll get back to that ncaa tournament

Alexis, in terms of maybe something you're familiar with just from your Husker tenure, Britt Prince entering that junior season.

She's a high profile in-state recruit and one of the biggest names that continues to stay on this roster in terms of maybe just that national news that revolves around Nebraska women's basketball.

What is that transition like when you've had success your freshman, sophomore year, and now you enter into a junior season? I know she accepted a little bit more of a leadership role, but just from your experience, or if you were to give her advice, what would that role look like as you turn into an upperclassman?

Well, it turns out not all women in countries play basketball.

Women's basketball, at least now, is starting to get somewhat competitive.

If you go back a number of years, this was like the whole Tennessee-Yukon thing.

There just weren't enough high-level women playing in the sport.
