Wise County

I would not have been able to achieve what I did without Bob Haas and his help.

He recommended, and I picked him up on it, that I gravitate to looking at Wise County, Boonesville Bend conglomerate gas field, North Texas, the Fort Worth Basin, to try to pick up some infield locations in a huge, old, old, tired gas field and pick the last meat off the bone and build up over a slow, long period of time some natural gas reserves.

And at this time, the Fort Worth Basin and North Texas was looked upon as the sorriest, depleted, most depleted basin in the United States.

You had really fallen off of the wagon.

my knowledge of the military customs and courtesies and protocols helps kind of eliminate people who have not served a a great deal in it uh we we look for records to corroborate what they have to say then you can look at the newspaper clippings was the story in the newspaper what did it say at that time and sometimes when you look at a newspaper story they're trying to get there first and so some of the information is inaccurate but on the other side of the coin they're recording the event as it happens so it gives you a better perspective a good example of this is the aurora texas crash from 1897. it was seen to get a windmill that explode And then they buried the pilot later on.

Well, there were two books written about the history of Wise County, Aurora being in Wise County.

Neither of the books mentioned the event.

I'm thinking if that event had taken place in Aurora, Texas, within 10 years of them writing the book, there would have been some mention.

I can kind of hear people in the background.

In the past, what I've done is when I've been during hunting season, I've listened to that net and it started in Wise County and they kind of went counterclockwise across the Metroplex and ended it.

in Parker County.

Parker County is where it started tonight.

I don't know if that's what they do or not.

I'm just guessing.

But the fact that it took an hour to get to me, maybe 55 minutes to get over to Wise County is pretty impressive.

That means there was that many people checking in on FM Simplex on a Friday night throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in North Texas all Sunday.

Walk us through what, what's happened over this weekend with, uh, Beau French, uh, the guy who's running for the head of the Railroad Commission, which is a very powerful institution in the state of Texas, sir.

Well, Steve, it's, it's, it's real simple.

These people just hate white people.

Let's bring in Andy Hopper now, uh, from the Texas Legislature up there, uh, representing Wise County and parts of Denton.

Andy, walk us through w- what exactly is going on.

But my kids had friends who did.

There was, across Wise County, hundreds of pigs.

primarily, that needed to go places.

And the thing about being a show kid with a pig in a show barn, you generally have a small backyard.

If you're a volunteer or a, or a paid guy in Texas, the grant reimbursements are there.

Um, December, we're going to be in Wise County up by Decatur, Texas, the other side of Fort Worth.

Guys, that's going to be a huge training.

I am very excited about that one.

Are you at the Little House on the Prairie or are you at the primary residence in Texas?

I'm north of Fort Worth and actually headed to the Queen City tomorrow.

Despite all that cloud cover late in the afternoon, there were some severe thunderstorm warnings in Denton County.

I think Wise County.

I thought maybe we might not make it to 100, but we did.
