Um, because he won, he felt that the league needed to do something about biological men, uh, entering the wmba which of course is not a thing um so it was kind of a publicity stunt but it was also really angering to a lot of the players and a lot of the fans you just like walk us through what you saw in the encounter stunt and the response to it i guess

yeah and royce white also a former nba player which i'll use that term very loosely the reason i bring him and up in this is because um And his cancer showed up to a Sky game and stepped over the baseline onto the court and, you know, essentially threatened the players and had to be removed from Wintrust Arena.

He's now banned from Wintrust Arena.

And I think what's important about both that behavior and somebody like Royce White being supported by the anti-trans groups is that these groups say that they want to, quote unquote, protect women and girls.

And you have Royce White, who his wife and kids have a lifetime order of protection against him.

They're hosting, I believe, the Portland Fire right there by McCormick Place.

Wintrust Arena, literally two blocks from the convention center.

So I'm going to that Thursday night.

I'm a massive WNBA fan.

But then there's also all of these things happening off the court that continue to permeate the discourse.

Uh, on September third, former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom said that he was suing the Chicago Sky for violating his First Amendment rights, uh, by ejecting him from a game at Wintrust Arena and then subsequently banning him from that arena because he stepped onto the court.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, and so things like this that just continue to make their way into the WNBA and detract from all of the basketball that is being played is just this constant push and pull that the WNBA hasn't quite figured out how to navigate.

he can't come to any more Sky games, and he can't even set foot in WinTrust Arena anymore for any reason.

Now, because of that, Mr. Cantor has decided to sue.

And now he's suing the Sky, but he's also, by virtue of the venue, he's suing the city of Chicago as well as the city agency that handles Navy Pier and McCormick Place and all that stuff because it's part of that complex.
