Where Mel Gibson is like traipsing his apologies for referencing Braveheart in front of a Scott, but also it's a movie.

It's also just Even a very good monologue can be very boring if it's just static.

And I realize I'm contradicting every nice thing I said about the Winter Light speech a month ago.

Bergman's rules are different rules than Bill

The two had previously worked together in movies like Smiles of a Summer Night in 1955 and The Seventh Seal the year before.

Ingrid Tulin, who plays Mariam, went on to appear in other Bergman films later, like Winter Light in 63 and Cries and Whispers in 72.

Yeah, but I did point it out to you in the credits because this is a big actor to talk about and probably one of the most famous Swedish actors of all time, especially in the later part of the 20th century.

This is definitely one of his earliest appearances in his career.

In total, he appeared in 11 of Bergman's films, including The Seventh Seal, The Virgin Spring, Through a Glass Darkly, Winter Light, Shame and The Touch.

But as an older actor from the 70s onwards, he appeared in some massive Hollywood films.

It's so good.

the silence he heard from god from his father and he's delivering this like big sermon to like an empty church it's such a good moment uh i can't believe that it's not treated as one of the better movies in bergman's filmography because i i really love it

so if you want a really bummer experience watch this and then watch winter light by ingmar bergman

yeah it's gonna be really sad

... also even after that, then you have, um, that trilogy of movies, uh, like Winter Light.

Um, and that is such a heavy, heavy-hitting trilogy.

It's like if y- when you start look re- s- like, kinda thinking back, it's like I personally can, uh, kinda understand, like, why this one, you know, just kinda gets lost in the shuffle a little bit.
