She developed breast cancer and was a friend of a congressman by the name of John Murtha, who handled all the finances for the Pentagon and everything, and, uh, they were good friends.

Then he said, "What can you do?" And she said, "We want to build a, a, uh, breast center in western Pennsylvania, in a small town called Windber," about three miles from where I grew up.

And she developed this breast center there with the help of John Murtha.

They developed a research center there, which produced twenty-five percent of all the breast cancer research in the United States, uh, at one time, before she, she passed.
