Then it gets pretty crazy.

crowded down through to Walton, off and on into North Wilsonville.

205 northbound, just scattered, slowing from Stafford Road up towards the viewpoint in West Lynn.

Southbound I-205 bunches up briefly, coming down past I-84.

217 northbound, some delays through Tigard just north of 99W up towards about Hall Boulevard in the Progress area.

I-5 southbound again looks great as you leave downtown up into the Terwilliger Curves.

There is some slowing, though, down through Tualatin into North Wilsonville.

And northbound I-5 to Vancouver.

It's now 551, and that means traffic and weather together.

On the ones, checking in with Michael Convery, south of Portland still, only this time, Wilsonville.

What's going on there?

We've got a crash, I-5 southbound, just prior to where you get down to the Norwood overpass, left lane block.

It is starting to look better, Tim.

I-5 southbound as you leave downtown looks great.

Up into the Teutiger Curves, there's still some on and off slowing down into North Wilsonville, but not a big delay at this point.

Not all that bad.

It's crowded down past the 205 merge into North Wilsonville.

205 northbound.

We're at about 11 minutes to get from the I-5 merge all the way up to the Abernathy Bridge.

That's pretty routine.

Southbound I-5 as you leave downtown, some slowing towards the Hood Avenue on-ramp off the lower deck of the Markham Bridge.

Then slows again from right about lower Boone's Ferry Road off and on headed down into Wilsonville.

205 northbound was holding steady with about a 12 to 13 minute drive to get from the I-5 merge up to the Abernathy Bridge in Oregon City.

Oh, my gosh.

I'm in the Wilsonville area right now, and so...

Yeah, they're going to be about 30 minutes outside of that, but they wanted to be close to my family and Nicole's family as well.

So is that where – tell us a little bit about your wife.

That's kind of the reason why I'm living in Oregon now.

But she grew up in Happy Valley, three sisters.

and her dad still lives there in Happy Valley, and one of her sisters does too, and then one of her other sisters lives seven houses down from us in Wilsonville, so pretty tight-knit family, and obviously my parents wanted to be a part of that and move a little closer, so.

Okay, well, I was expecting you to have more people on your pass list than ever, but I'm glad to know.

Oh, I wonder.

Wilsonville, Tukwila, and Upland.

So there's one in Oregon, one in Washington, and one in California.

Wow, okay.

Okay, let's get into today's stories.

Early in the morning on February 5th, 1990, 57-year-old Laverne Pavlenok stood in the kitchen of her Wilsonville, Oregon apartment making some coffee.

Mornings were the best part of Laverne's day because she had the whole apartment to herself.

Now, she lived with her boyfriend, John Sosnovsky, but he worked at a nearby mill and had to be out early in order to catch the bus there.

If it wasn't, it was entirely possible that John would discover this betrayal of her calling the police about him, implicating him in a murder, and he would probably just continue his abuse, if not amp up his abuse of Laverne.

And so the way she saw it is either what she just did was going to end the chapter with John and he was going to go to jail for murder, or Laverne might wind up being the next dead girl on the side of the highway.

A little over a week later, on the morning of February 16th, Detective John Ingram sat with his partner in a very clean living room in Wilsonville, Oregon.

Ingram was the lead investigator on Tonya Bennett's murder case, and he was there to speak to Laverne, who was sitting on the opposite couch.
