Wilson's warbler

I, I understand the reason.

The one that really spoke to me was the person that said that the first bird that they ever pulled out of a net was a Wilson's Warbler, and, uh, you know, somehow changing that name might change something about that, that memory.

I, I, I get that.

I hear that.

And it was Wilsonia was the genus that I grew up with Canada Warbler in.

So it was the same as Wilson's Warbler.

So that is very interesting.

I'd love to know more about what they have in common with these species.

And we are going to be talking about the Wilson's Warbler.

The title of this episode is Wilson Warbler Wears a Wig.

And we're going to talk about why it's called that in just a few seconds.

But we thought since we are recording this during fall migration, we're recording in September of 2026, that we would talk about a migrant that we see coming through the Central Flyway in Texas during fall migration.

So what is this bird going to look like in its breeding versus its non-breeding plumage? The Wilson's warbler

is really pretty similar in breeding and non-breeding plumage.

So yeah, they don't have a big giant difference.

We got northern water thrush.

We got Wilson's Warbler, American Red Start, Nashville Yellow, and Morning Warblers, which were all nice.

We also got either Leased or Yellow-Bellied Flycatcher.

Couldn't really decide which one it was.
