I knew Willy Burgdorfer very well, and he discovered the agent of Lyme disease.

They named it after him, Borrelia burgdorferi, as far as the agent.

Wow.

Yeah.

It was Willy Burgdorfer who actually identified the, the, the bacteria.

It's called a spirochete.

It's kind of a spirally shaped bacteria.

It's named after him, Borrelia burgdorferi.
