And living in the Newcastle area, I knew they had working dogs at the RAF base, Williamtown.

It would have been, you know, a nice positive experience to sort of finish on, you know, like and build that bit of a family and community again and sort of restore your faith in humanity a little bit, yeah?

In Wreck Bay in Australia, an Aboriginal community, they had some of the highest rates of premature loss of life in Australia.

There was also a road in Williamtown in New South Wales that I investigated, which was one of the most polluted spots in that suburb, where I've found sort of 50 cancer cases on that road.

road.But now the Australian government is seeking $2 billion in damages from US chemical manufacturing giant 3M over PFAS contamination at 28 of its defense bases.

Multiple government inquiries into PFAS and forever chemicals have been held at state and federal levels, which sounds great, but while many recommendations have been made, there isn't a sense of urgency.

In, in July, this is a interesting contrast.

In July of this year, there were a number of unidentified drones, a drone swarm that there was an incursion over a, a Royal Australian Air Force base in Williamtown, and the personnel on the, the base, their only defense to basically stop the drone incursions from conducting ISR and surveillance, intelligence surveillance reconnaissance, was the personnel on the base were told to close their blinds so that these drones would not potentially pick up anything that was sensitive or classified in nature.

And so if, if the Australian Department of Defense and Royal Australian Air Force can't deal with, it can't intercept con- these conventional drones at our most strategic fighter jet bases, how can we possibly defend against a UAP? And, and the US recognizes that if an object is in their airspace and it's under unidentified, that's a potential threat.

That's a national security threat.

What Jacinta found in her research would raise serious questions about what these chemicals might be passing from one generation to the next, and about whether a simple plant-based solution could offer some protection to the communities already living in the thick of it.

One of those communities is Williamtown, a suburb just north of Newcastle in New South Wales.

Williamtown is the site of some of Australia's most significant PFAS contamination.

And it is the place where much of Jacinta's research begins.

PFAS is incredibly mobile.

So in terms of Williamtown, we say that the original source is a RAF base because that's where both our civilian and our military firefighters live.

So they use those firefighting phones that had those legacy PFASs in them.

So that would be, you know, deposed onto the ground as they're doing their training activities and then they get washed away and add a floodplain to that.
