Williamsburg

Joining me is Tidal Wave Rode.

a band from Williamsburg, Kentucky that has been making music together since 2012 and building a sound that stays rooted in bluegrass tradition while bringing a little bit of grit and some blues and some rock along the way.

Their momentum really took off after winning the 2023 Sam Jam Festival Band Competition, which helped put them on a bigger national stage and eventually led to their work with Pine Castle Records.

Since then, they've continued growing their audience, releasing new music, and carving out a sound that is undeniably their own.

Good evening, everybody.

Hey, so I grew up in southeastern Kentucky, Williamsburg.

A proud graduate of Williamsburg High School.

And then I transferred, not transferred, graduated Williamsburg, went up the road and went to school at UK.

So graduated UK in the mid 80s, kind of showing my age here.

And then fresh out of college, I moved to Maryland.

And I've lived in Maryland the rest of my life since graduating college.

Try to get back home three or four times a year.

So happy to support them and get a copy of this for me.

I guess maybe by happenstance, but very recently, I was shown how to play Flip Tunes at one of the board game meetups that I now run here at the Williamsburg Game Store, Gideon Games in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

So we do a monthly... meet up there on Saturdays.

And one of the gentlemen there that I'm becoming friends with, show me flip tunes.
